Which DoorKing Models This Applies To

DoorKing has been building access control gear since the late 1970s, and over the decades they have released a lot of model lines. • Keypad accepts some codes but not others. The board’s memory chip or the keypad membrane is going. We can usually reflash or replace just the keypad, not the whole board.
• Gate opens by itself after a power flicker. The board’s relay is sticking, or the backup battery (if equipped) has dropped below voltage and the system is behaving erratically. This is the one that worries owners most, and it is fixable in one visit.
• Intercom rings but nobody can hear either side. This is almost always a bad microphone or speaker in the entry station, or corrosion on the wiring terminals. Common in El Monte where summer heat and the occasional damp winter morning do a slow number on outdoor electronics.
• Keypad lights up but gate does not move. Could be the board relay, but just as often it’s the gate operator itself. We test both. A general handyman will guess. We diagnose.
